A CARVED IVORY MORTAR
17TH CENTURY
The waisted vessel is carved to the exterior of its upper section with two writhing dragons on a ground of fire and cloud scrolls, a raised central band encircles the waist. The lower section is embellished with two phoenix and rabbits on a foliate ground.
