Sugata [configuration]: substantial honzukuri narrowing towards the kissaki, iori-mune, shallow curved, chu-kissaki curve
Kitae [forging pattern]: tight ko-itame nagare with ji-nie and fine chikei
Hamon [tempering pattern]: large irregular gunome midare
Boshi [tip]: ko-maru
Nakago [tang]: ubu, one mekugi-ana, sujigai file marks, ha-agari kurijiri
Habaki [collar]: single silver
Nagasa [length of blade]: 55.2cm.
Koshirae [mounting]: wakizashi koshirae with black-lacquered scabbard, oval shibuichi ishimeji tsuba with peony, cat, and butterfly in iroe suemon zogan, the fuchi-kashira shinchu ishimeji with Chokaro, gourd and horses in hamidashi iroe- suemonzogan, fuchi signed Rosen, menuki of bamboo and morning glory roundly carved in gold (2)

The blade accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Tokubetsu Hozon Token [Sword Especially Worthy of Preservation] no. 101189 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword] on 30 April 1987.

The mounting accompanied by a certificate of registration as a Hozon Tosogu [Sword Fittings Worthy of Preservation] no. 438151 issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japan Art Sword] on 15th October 1999.
