Ce type de bague servait d'ornement de cheveux ou pouvait être attaché à des bols, des tambours ou des conques à l'aide de liens en fibre ou en cheveux. Cet objet cylindrique prend la forme d'une figure de tiki, représentée de manière traditionnelle: la tête massive présentant de grand yeux cerclés, un nez épaté, une fine bouche horizontale laissant ici apparaître une langue; un corps ramassé dont les membres inférieurs ne sont quasiment jamais représentés. Les deux mains viennent se poser sur un ventre proéminent. Des motifs géométriques à l'image des tatouages marquisiens peuvent être gravés au dos de l'objet.
