Cet ornement représente un tiki. Selon Meyer (in Berthelier, 2008) ce mot est "synonyme d'homme, d'être humain, d'ancêtre et de sa version déifiée". Ce motif anthropomorphe est omniprésent dans l'art des îles marquises et se rencontre en ronde bosse, sculpté dans la pierre volcanique, le bois ou l'os, mais également en bas-relief, sur par exemple les couronnes en écaille (cf. lot 22). Cet être mythique est toujours représenté par ce que l'on peut appeler la 'posture polynésienne' (cf. lot précédent).
