On circular domed foot rising to a straight shaft with curved branches on each side with urn-shape candle holders, the decoration of floral motifs issuing acanthus scrolls
8½in. (21.5cm.) high

Lot Essay

This fine candelabra is an interesting combination of an English form with a typically Indian decoration. The removable base would probably have provided ease of packing and transportation. This is a rare shape amongst the corpus of silver works produced by Kutch silversmiths.
