Cette esquisse non retenue pour la toile du même titre peinte en 1905 (fig. 1) représente une scène au bord de l'Oued Bou Saâda. On remarque la dynamique de ces corps effarouchés par, imagine-t-on, un regard audacieux, accentuéé par l'intensité des coloris et les jeux de lumières sur ces corps encore mouillés de la baignade.K.B.
This hitherto unrecorded sketch for the painting of the same title (fig. 1) depicts a scene on the banks of the Bou Sâada Wadi. The painting is notable for the dynamism of the female form, accentuated by the colouring and the play of light on bodies still glistening with water. The bathers are presumably fleeing the audacious glances of an unseen spectator.
