With tapering double-edged blade of hollow diamond section with serrated edges and cut with narrow fullers on each face, those on the cutting edges pierced with minute dots and slots, rectangular ricasso shaped, pierced and fullered en suite, iron guard with short swelling quillons and small side-ring, each punched and chiselled with scrollwork and flower-heads, later spirally grooved grip bound with steel wire heightened with copper wire and Turk's heads, globular pommel chiselled, pierced and punched en suite with the guard, the guard and pommel each retaining some original gilding
