An Austrian ewer and basin,
the former of baluster form and on a rising circular foot, with reeded body band, moulded rim and scroll handle with foliate thumb piece and shell terminal, the front engraved with an initial with coronet above, the latter of oval form and with a moulded rim, the underside with later inscription in German recording presentation of the matched set as a remembrance of an old acquaintance, various makers, both 1831 - height of ewer 10½in. (26.75cm.), width of basin 16¾in. (42.50cm.), 48.50oz.
