LATE 19TH CENTURY, THE CASE POSSIBLY GERMAN
CASE: The drum-shaped upper section surmounted by a laurel crest and musical trophy, with a scallop shell and foliate-cast surround, the sides each with a grille door of pierced foliate design, the waisted middle section headed by a foliate-cast scrolled bracket to each corner, supporting a foliate festoon above a ribbon-tied floral musical trophy within a foliate-cast surround, on rectangular base with panelled sides hung with foliate swags on scroll feet DIAL: white enamel segmented dial with Roman and Arabic chapters, with blued steel hands, signed Simiand A Paris MOVEMENT: twin-train movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike
