THE HOLLAND HOUSE COPY OF RUGGIERI'S MAGISTERIAL 'EPITOME OF FLORENTINE ARCHITECTURE' (RIBA). A tall copy, with deckle edges. Jean Bouchard recognized that important works on Florentine architecture were not readily available for purchase by curious Grand Tourists; in 1755 he reprinted Ruggieri's three-volume Studio d'architecture civile, originally published in 1722-1728, and added a fourth volume comprising Sgrilli's description of Santa Maria del Fiore, and Rossi's description of the Mediceo-Laurenziana library. RIBA 2878. (4)
