First edition thus; the first English version of Le Roy's treatise, originally published in Paris in 1758. In his Preface Sayer freely acknowledges his debt to Le Roy as well as to Sir George Wheler, whose Journey into Greece (1682) provides the material for the 'Historical Account of Athens' found here. RIBA 1876; Harris 493.
