Decorated in gold, silver and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, kirikane and nashiji with motifs from The Tale of Genji, the window with bamboo-curtain lifting up to reveal an image of a court lady, the interiors of the hinged doors decorated with a pair of pheasants, the varicolored faces of the four drawers decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with various flowers and applied with silver pulls, elaborate incised silver fittings
