Sugata [configuration]: hirazukuri, iori mune, even breadth sakizori-curve, extended kissaki
Kitae [forging pattern]: itame hada with utsuri
Hamon [tempering pattern]: gunome chojiba
Horimono [carvings]: bohi kakitoshi and soebi both sides of blade
Boshi [tip]: midarekomi with komaru
Nakago [tang]: ubu, two mekugi-ana, katte sagari file marks, ha-agari kurijiri, date inscription illegible
Habaki [collar]: Double, gold and copper
Nagasa [length of blade]: 62.0cm
Koshirae [mounting]: katana koshirae, the saya of kawari nuri in gold and brown lacquer, metal fittings of long kojiri, fuchigashira, kaerizuno, kozuka, wari-kogai all matching silver carved with sea waves, the fuchi signed Shunkosai Kaneaki (Uchida Kaneaki active Meiji and Taisho periods), gold menuki of groups of plovers, round iron tsuba with fans of gold nunome-zogan engraved with auspicious emblems including pine, plum, bamboo, mandarin ducks, long-tailed turtle, bush clover, inscribed with a poem, the character for kotobuki and an inscription referring to clouds over mountain peaks, signed Goto Seijo and with a kao
