A gilt bronze figure of Amitayus
Tibet, 16th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base with his hands folded in his lap, dressed in a billowing dhoti with a sash draped over the shoulders and heavily adorned with various jewelry inset with hardstones, the face with bow-shaped mouth, elongated eyes, and sharply arched brows surmounted by a foliate tiara, the hair in tight curls at the forehead and arranged in a tall chignon topped with a knop, with lotus blossoms at the shoulders
