A silver figure of Vajrabhairava and Vajravarahi
Tibet, circa 17th century
Striding in alidhasana on animals and prostrate figures over a lotus base, Vajrabhairava holding a curved knife and skull cup in his principle hands and a multitude of implements in the radiating others, the buffalo face ferocious with bared fangs and flaming brows, flanked and surmounted by tiers of faces and backed by flaming hair, Vajravarahi with one leg wrapped around his waist, holding a skull cup and curved knife in her hands, her upturned face surmounted by a skull tiara
