A RARE DOUCAI DISH
KANGXI/YONGZHENG PERIODS (1662-1735)
The dish has shallow, rounded sides, and is finely decorated in the center of the interior with two ladies in a garden setting, one playing a qin, below prunus, pine and bamboo, representing the 'Three Friends of Winter' in the well. The exterior is decorated with bamboo extending around the sides. An apocryphal Chenghua mark is on the base.
8 3/8 in. (20.8 cm.) diam.
