A RARE CELADON-GLAZED LOTUS PETAL-CARVED BOTTLE VASE
QIANLONG SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The elegantly proportioned body is finely carved with rows of overlapping lotus petals that extend from the mouth rim to just above the slightly waisted shallow foot, and is covered all over with a glaze of soft blue-green color. The unglazed foot is covered with a brown dressing.
18 7/8 in. (48 cm.) high, wood stand

Lot Essay

A very similar Qianlong-marked vase, of the same design but slightly smaller in size (47 cm. high), was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 29 October 1991, lot 103.
