A RED AND PALE GREEN-OVERLAY GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE
1770-1840
The flattened, rounded bottle is carved through the clear red and pale green overlay to the bubble-suffused ground on one side with a frog seated on a rock beneath a fruit-laden pomegranate tree, and with a tiny insect in flight, and on the reverse with a prunus tree and a bird perched on part of a ribbon-tied lotus spray, all above a band of red rocks and the red oval foot.
2¼ in. (5.8 cm.) high, jadeite and gilt-metal stopper
