Lot Essay

This photograph, donated by the artist, originally formed part of a 1995 traveling exhibition, Pictures for Peace, devoted to human rights. Works in the show, which included photographs by artists such as David Bailey, Paolo Roversi, Sebastião Salgado, Bert Stern, Albert Watson and Bruce Weber, were all eventually sold by Christie's in April 1996. Please also see lot 26 which formed part of this exhibition.
