A chain of poems in even meters discussing philosophical, ethical and religious themes with illustrative anecdotes, Persian manuscript on gold-speckled paper, 237ff., each folio with 14ll. of elegant black nasta'liq script arranged in two columns with double black-ruled gold intercolumnar divisions, some text in blue, red and gold script in clouds on illuminated ground arranged within cartouches, text within gold and polychrome rules, opening bifolio with very fine gold and polychrome "carpet" illumination framing two panels of text, each with 6ll. of white nasta'liq script outlined in black on gold ground, manuscript with two finely illuminated headpieces, catchwords, colophon dated, in restored Safavid gilt and stamped brown morocco binding, the doublures with découpé decoration
