Muhammad Hadi was renowed for is very fine lacquer bindings. It is probable that the signature "Muhammad Hadi" and the date of AH 1151 on the present work are later additions however.

SIGNED NURULLAH AL-RAZI, SAFAVID IRAN, DATED AH 1084/1673-74 AD
Arabic manuscript on paper, 177ff. plus eight fly-leaves, each folio with 10ll. of elegant black naskh script, titles in red thuluth script within gold cartouche, text within black-ruled gold frame, catchwords, colophon signed and dated, the original illuminated headpiece replaced with a later 18th century piece laid down on the opening folio, the fine lacquer binding with gilt floral decoration on black ground with probably added signature of Muhammad Hadi and date of AH 1151, the doublures with floral medallion
