A GOLD CIGARETTE CASE WITH FIGURAL DECORATION
CONTINENTAL EUROPE, CIRCA 1920
Of rectangular form with hinged cover with angular catch, the cover engraved with a Safavid-style couple in embrace set in a landscape with foliage and a cypress tree, the underside probably engraved in Iran with a pattern of overlapping floral sprays and gul-o bulbul design, two import marks to the right hand side of the cover, plain interior
2 7/8 x 3 1/8 x 3/8in. (7.2 x 7.8 x 1cm.)
