The Book of Kings, poetry, Persian manuscript on paper, 500ff. as numbered, plus 10 modern fly-leaves, each folio with 25ll. of black nasta'liq script arranged in four columns between gold double divisions, titles in red nasta'liq script within cartouches, the text within blue, black and gold rules, opening bifolio with finely illuminated gold and polychrome margins and cartouches, the text with 3 illuminated headpieces, with 12 inserted illustrations, one colophon with added date of AH 794, some marginal notes, the reverse of the opening folio inscribed with the title in elegant shikasteh script, probably an Indian hand, repairs throughout, in modern red morocco binding

The illustration as identified in the manuscript: 1) Zahhak; 2) Rustam picks Afrasiyab off his horse by his bridle; 3) Rakhsh; 4) Rustam and the White Div; 5) Rustam and Suhrab; 6) Rustam lassoy the Khakan on his elephant; 7) Afrasiab dictates to a scribe a letter to Suladvand; 8) The div Akvan picks up Rustam with pieces of ground; 9) Manigah sends a message to Bizhan; 10) Fight of Human and Bizhan; 11) First fight between Rustam and Isfandyar; 12) Rustam shoots Isfandyar in the eye.
