Dove for Edward Orme, 1815 [plates watermarked 1825, guards watermarked 1827]. 2° (472 x 332mm). 20 hand-coloured aquatint plates by Clark and Dubourgh after Mornay, captions in French and English. (Without the reproduction of the front label found in earlier issues of this work, light spotting, some offsetting on the title and a few other text leaves, light marginal soiling, staining in the corner of a few plates not affecting the image, a few small marginal repairs.) Original purple straight-grained half morocco over marbled boards, spine gilt in compartments with vertical lettering, green paper label printed in black on the upper side, edges green (extremities lightly rubbed).

MORNAY'S CELEBRATED HAND-COLOURED VIEWS OF ST. PETERSBURG IN THE ORIGINAL PUBLISHER'S BINDING. The plates are divided into two groups: the first 12 are views of St. Petersburg, one for each month of the year, whilst the others illustrate various types of sledge and carriage.
