A WHITE JADE-INSET SPINACH GREEN JADE RECTANGULAR BOX AND COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The top of the cover is inset with a white jade plaque decorated with a ruyi-head border, and the sides of the cover are finely carved with a continuous band of leafy floral scrolls. The sides of the box are similarly carved with floral scrolls, suppported on a short foot. The white jade plaque is of a fairly even white tone. The spinach green stone is of an attractive deep green tone, with an even network of paler and darker speckling.
