Elle est représentée assise en lalitasana. Ses deux mains sont en vitarkamudra, deux lotus fleurissant le long de ses bras. Elle est vêtue d'un sari et parée de bijoux incrustés. Son visage est serein, ses cheveux coiffés en chignon surmontés par un ratna rehaussé d'un petit Bouddha ; non scellée ; accidents

The dating is consistent with the Daybreak Nuclear and Medical Systems, Inc. Guilford, CT, USA, sample number 101A43, 6/4/1987
Syamatara is the 'granter of all wishes' and is the original Tara who gave rise to all the other manifestions known as White Tara (Sitatara), Yellow Tara (Bhrikuti), Blue Tara (Ekajata) and Red Tara (Kurukulla). She is thought to represent the night with her half-opened eyes and half-opened lotus. Syamatara complements her companion, Sitatara (White Tara), who symbolises the day.
