Lot Essay

A meat skewer by Nathaniel Hurd is now in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and illustrated in Kathryn C. Buhler, American Silver, 1972, no. 315, p. 356. According to Buhler, American silver meat skewers are "surprisingly rare."
