Meiji period (late 19th century), signed Kyoto Namikawa (Workshop of Namikawa Yasuyuki; 1845-1927)
The compressed globular jar decorated in polychrome enamels and gold and silver wires with three panels designed with a bird, flowers and butterflies on a beige ground, each panel surrounded with scattered chrysanthemums on a dark blue ground, the rim of lid, shoulder and the base enamelled with a floret pattern, the lid set with a gilt chrysanthemum finial, signature on a silver tablet mounted on base, gilt rims; interior dark green enamel
