Unified Silla Period (late 8th century)
Shown standing on a three-tiered lotus base with hands in abhayamudra and varadamudra conferring on adherents the granting of all desires and absolution from fear, the body slender and draped in a robe falling from the neck to the ankles in pronounced u-shaped pleats, the oval face framed by pendulous ears and high protuberance, the usnisa; the figure cast in the round, the back smooth and also gilded and fitted with an attachment peg at the back of the knee section
