A TURQUOISE AND AUBERGINE-GLAZED FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The figure is finely modeled kneeling on a lotus base, with hands raised at the chest, and hair fashioned into a tall topknot behind a five-point crown. His rounded face has a serene, smiling expression and he is depicted wearing elaborate beaded jewelery, a dhoti folded over at the waist, a shawl and celestial scarf, all glazed in turquoise and aubergine.
