With two smaller celestial hemispheres and insets of northern and southern skies, on a background depicting stars, the sun, the moon, cherubs and windheads. (Lower margin with a few tears repaired on verso, a few other backed tears.)
Homann, the leading German cartographer of his time, designed this map published by his heirs. It is one of the most decorative 18th century world maps.
