Nur al-Din Faqir was a prominent Muslim courtier serving Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his successors. He was appointed Court Physician and Hakim in 1801. He retained a prominent position at court even after the death of Ranjit Singh and was one of the signatories of the Treaty of Lahore in 1846.
