Of rectangular form, the domed lid's polychrome painted decoration depicting a mounted Fath 'Ali Shah and his retinue at a lion hunt, the sides with two horsemen, one hawking, the second holding an parasol, the front with nobles on horseback pursuing and spearing deer in an open landscape with pavilions and a bridge in the background, the reverse showing another lion hunt in a similar landscape, the base adorned with intricate interlocking floral patterns on gilt ground framed with stylised palmettes
