DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The interior of the dish is decorated with a flower-head surrounded by four peaches interspersed with lotus scrolls, surrounded by the Eight Daoist Emblems, anbaxian. The exterior is painted with stylised flowers and foliate scrolls, above a ruyi band to the foot.

Compare the present dish to earlier Qianlong dishes with this design, including those in the Tokyo National Museum, illustrated in the Catalogue of Tokyo National Museum: Chinese Ceramics, vol. 2, Tokyo, 1990, pl. 593; and in the Umezawa Kinenkan Museum, Tokyo, illustrated in Toji Takei, vol. 46, Tokyo, 1973, pl. 28. An example was included in the exhibition Ch'ing Polychrome Porcelain, The Oriental Ceramic Society of Hong Kong, 1977, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 83; and another was included in the exhibition, Qing Imperial Porcelain, Nanjing Museum and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1995, illustrated in the Catalogue, no. 106.

Several dishes with this design have been sold at auction, including a Qianlong example sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 8 November 2011, lot 442.
