A LARGE BRONZE GUANYIN AND BUDDHIST LION GROUP
MING DYNASTY, 16TH/17TH CENTURY
The figure is elegantly cast with a serene expression on her face and is seated on the back of a recumbent Buddhist lion. The figure wears long flowing robes with numerous strings of jewels around her neck. She is holding a lotus bouquet in her left hand, the other is raised with an open palm. Her elaborate headdress encloses a figure of Sakyamuni.
