A BRONZE RITUAL WINE VESSEL, GU
SHANG DYNASTY, 13TH-12TH CENTURY BC
The vessel has a flaring trumpet-form neck above bow-string bands that flank the rounded mid-section with taotie centered on a narrow flange and embellished with a spiral scroll. The spreading foot is similarly decorated. The patina is of a mottled green tone with encrustations.
