Each baluster, the lower bodies chased with wave decoration interspersed with spiral flutes, the detachable domed covers similarly decorated and with spire finials, with gadrooned borders and shell decoration to the sides, each later engraved twice with a crest and further later engraved on the body and cover with initial M below an earl's coronet, the ladles Onslow pattern, two pierced, each marked on foot and on cover bezel, two further engraved with scratchweights '23=15' and '14=16'
Largest vase: 9½ in. (24 cm.) high; smaller vases: 8 in. (20 cm.) high
53 oz. 16 dwt. (1,675 gr.)
The crest is for James Harris, later 1st Earl of Malmesbury (1746-1820). The Prussian eagle, an augmentation to the arms, was added in 1789.

The initial M is probably for William Wellesley-Pole, Baron Maryborough and later 3rd Earl of Mornington (1763-1845), whose daughter Emily (1792-1881) married Lord FitzRoy Somerset, later 1st Baron Raglan.
