A LARGE LONGQUAN CELADON CARVED 'PEONY' CHARGER
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
Sturdily potted, the centre is carved with a single peony spray below a band of narrow fluted petals in the cavetto below the sloped, broad mouth rim. The charger is covered overall with a glaze of sea-green tone except for an unglazed ring on the base.
