Lot Essay

The current lot comes with two Japanese wood boxes and an undated receipt from the Osaka Antique Association. The inner wood box is inscribed on the cover with the name Chikuun, who might be Yamamoto Chikuun (1819-1888), a famous seal carver based in the city of Takamatsu in Shikoku, Japan.
