Lot Essay

Cimier figurant une antilope de très belle qualité. La patine sombre recouvrant l'objet atteste de son ancienneté. Nous pouvons rapprocher cette antilope bamana d'un exemplaire publié dans Colleyn (2001, fig.222). Ces deux pièces présentent une tête à la morphologie très proche, des cornes de forme identique et un corps curviligne et enflé comparable. D'après l'auteur l'objet publié proviendrait de la région de Beledugu au Mali.
