(Occasional light soiling and light marginal spotting, some margins lightly yellowed.) Contemporary mottled calf, sides with gilt and blind rule border (rebacked with endpapers renewed but preserving earlier blanks). Provenance: de Carrillo (signature on last leaf) -- Augustinian Friar Thomas ?M (deleted title inscription) -- William Shergold Browning (1797-1874; pencilled inscription dated 24 August 183?7 presenting the book to:) -- Robert Browning (1782-1866) -- Robert Browning (1812-1889, the poet; signature on front blank) --[H.
