8° (148 x 87mm). Engraved frontispiece and 38 full-page emblematic illustrations, no. 68 repeated on p.72, one unnumbered plate ‘To Iohn Norris Gent:’ inserted between p. 72 and 73. (Frontispiece, F3 and F5 expertly re-margined and inner margin of F2 & F3 repaired, upper margin trimmed, occasional affecting headline, very few light spots.) 19th-century maroon morocco, flat spine ruled and lettered in gilt (spine lightly sunfaded). Provenance: George Parker Heathcote (bookplate).

RARE. Only 3 copies are listed in Wing, all located in North America (Harvard, Huntington and Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County), no copies in the British Isles. Praz p. 325; Wing E704.
