TWO UNDERGLAZE BLUE, COPPER-RED AND CELADON-DECORATED JARS
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
One is a globular jar and cover, the jar decorated on each side with a panel with carved border and carved scenes of river landscapes in underglaze blue, celadon, and copper red, with a further riverscape on the cover below the pearl-form finial. An apocryphal Chenghua mark is on the base. The other jar is decorated with a scholar seated to one side of a pine tree in which a crane is perched, while an attendant tempts a deer with a lingzhi sprig to the other side, all in underglaze blue, white and copper red reserved on a soft olive-green ground.
