TWO WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC BI
18TH-19TH CENTURY
One is carved in relief on one side with a chilong with a lingzhi sprig in its jaws, and on the reverse with archaistic scroll pattern. The other is carved on one side with stylized taotie masks and on the reverse with scrolls. Together with a pale greenish-white jade circular pendant centered by a movable disc carved in openwork with two figures in a dragon boat and at the top with clouds. All three are carved from semi-translucent stone.
2 3/16, 2 1/16 and 2¼ in. (5.7, 5.2 and 5.8 cm.) diam.
Provenance
Lizzadro Collection, Chicago, Illinois, acquired prior to 1960.
