THE BOX SECOND HALF 18TH CENTURY, THE LATER-ADDED GRILLE EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With rococo cagework mounts and white enamel band around rim of cover inscribed "Rien n'est trop bon pour ce qu'on aime", foliate-pierced grille; also a blonde tortoiseshell and gold inlaid and piquée-work rectangular snuff box, probably French, circa 1730, depicting putti retrieving a heart tied to a tree with birds, animals and diaperwork, base inlaid with putto standing on a label "Sincere" with butterflies and tree stumps; and a small gold and silver-gilt mounted agate snuff box of cartouche form, mid-18th century, centred by moss agate boss, chased rococo sides
