A DUTCH ORMOLU-MOUNTED EBONISED AUTOMATON MUSICAL AND QUARTER STRIKING TABLE CLOCK
LATE 18TH CENTURY, THE BELL TOP REPLACED
The bell-top case with floral mounts, the brass dial painted with automaton figures, silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, date aperture, moonphase and age of the moon, the left segment showing the month, right segment showing the day, painted with celestial figures, tune selection lever to right of dial, subsidiary dials for slaan/niet slaan and spielen/nie spielen the three train movement with two gut fusees and one chain fusee, verge escapement, playing ten tunes on fourteen bells via twenty six hammers, striking the hour and quarter hour on a large bell, the half hour and third quarter hour on a smaller bell
30 ¾ in. (78 cm.) high; 18 ½ in. (47 cm.) wide; 11 ¼ in. (28.5 cm.) deep
