LATE 16TH CENTURY
With iron head with slightly rounded hammer-face, downcurved rear spike and etched throughout with panels of foliage, leather-covered haft forming the scabbard for the dagger, with deep collars top and bottom and a strengthening bar to one side all etched with panels of scrolling foliage against a stippled ground, dagger blade with serrated back-edge, and original wooden grip with iron guard and pommel, the latter etched en suite
