Birch's 'Advertisement', 2pp. publisher's ads at end printed in blue, additional tinted lithographic title and 39 views on 31 sheets, each with letterpress description. Original blue quarter roan over moiré fine-ribbed cloth, lettered in gilt on upper cover (recently recased with new endpapers, all mounted on guards).
FINE LITHOGRAPHS OF EGYPTIAN MONUMENTS by the author best-known for his work on the decorative arts, Grammar of Ornament. '[Jones] was responsible, together with Joseph Bonomi, for the design of the Egyptioan court at the Crystal Palace, and in 1863 he was commissioned to design a palace in Cairo for Ismail Pasha' (Blackmer). Blackmer 888; not in Atabey, Abbey or Tooley.
