Views on the Nile from Cairo to the Second Cataract. London: Graves and Warmsley, 1843. 2° (540 x 370mm). Letterpress title printed in red, blue and black, 1p. Birch's 'Advertisement', 2pp. publisher's ads at end printed in blue, additional tinted lithographic title and 39 views on 31 sheets, each with letterpress description. Original blue quarter roan over moiré fine-ribbed cloth, lettered in gilt on upper cover (recently recased with new endpapers, all mounted on guards).

FINE LITHOGRAPHS OF EGYPTIAN MONUMENTS by the author best-known for his work on the decorative arts, Grammar of Ornament. '[Jones] was responsible, together with Joseph Bonomi, for the design of the Egyptioan court at the Crystal Palace, and in 1863 he was commissioned to design a palace in Cairo for Ismail Pasha' (Blackmer). Blackmer 888; not in Atabey, Abbey or Tooley.
