A DEHUA CENSER
QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
The censer has a compressed body raised on a spreading foot and a pair of lion-mask handles just below the waisted neck, which rises to a flat rim. The censer is covered with a lustrous glaze of creamy colour with the exception of four rounded spur marks in the centre of the interior. The base is impressed with an apocryphal Xuande mark.
