A FAUX 'ARCHAIC BRONZE' PORCELAIN CENSER AND COVER OF GUI SHAPE
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The censer is modelled in the archaic style with a pair of dragon-head handles and the sides with two pairs of confronting stylised dragons on a geometrical ground. The censer is fitted with a white-glazed bowl. The slightly domed cover has a band of classical scroll, is surmounted by a flower-bud finial and is incised with a three-character mark. The interior of the censer is covered in a white glaze and the interior of the cover in a turquoise glaze.
